Full-service Bar Mitzvah planning in Charlotte and the surrounding area, from the first idea to the last dance. Real Bar Mitzvah celebrations below, each with its theme, venue and vendor team.
A Bar Mitzvah planner who builds the party around your son
Every Bar Mitzvah Heather plans starts with the boy himself: what he loves, what makes him laugh, and how he wants to feel when he walks into the room. From there Razzle Dazzle Event Planning builds the whole celebration, from the venue walk-through and the vendor team to the timeline for the weekend, the room design and the run of show on the day.
Recent Bar Mitzvah celebrations in Charlotte include a World Cup soccer party at Lenny Boy Brewing, casino night at the Canopy SouthPark, a graffiti theme at Temple Beth El, Duke basketball, Charlotte FC, a rock concert at Heist Brewery and bowling celebrations at Spare Time, a great fit for boys who would rather play than dance.
What's included in Bar Mitzvah planning
- Vision and budget. A theme that is genuinely his, and a plan that respects what you want to spend.
- Venue and vendors. Heather works with Charlotte's synagogues, hotels, country clubs, breweries and entertainment venues, and brings in the DJs, lighting, balloons, florals, photo booths, caterers and swag vendors she trusts, as one team.
- Design and room transformation. Entrances, marquee letters, dance floors, pipe and drape, centerpieces and the small details guests remember.
- Kid energy. Dance boxes, 360 booths, airbrush, arcade games, yard games, candy carts, hot dog stands and sno-cones, planned so every age group has a great night.
- Weekend logistics. Shabbat dinner, the service, luncheons, out-of-town guests and host hotels, with one calm timeline.
- Day-of coordination. Heather is on the floor from setup to send-off, so you get to be the parent.
Heather is a Mitzvah mom herself. She planned her own son Adley's Bar Mitzvah, and she brings that experience to every family she works with. Serving Charlotte, Ballantyne, South Charlotte, Matthews, Weddington, Waxhaw, Lake Norman, Fort Mill and Rock Hill. Also planning a Bat Mitzvah?

Bar Mitzvah planning questions
When should we start planning a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in Charlotte?
Most families reach out 12 to 18 months before the date, once the synagogue has assigned it. Popular Charlotte venues and the most requested DJs, photographers and decor vendors book up for spring and fall weekends well in advance, so earlier is easier. That said, Heather has pulled together beautiful celebrations on much shorter timelines, so if your date is close, reach out anyway.
What does a Mitzvah planner actually do?
Heather handles the whole picture: the vision and theme, a realistic budget, venue selection, building and managing the vendor team, the design of the room, the weekend timeline (service, luncheon, Shabbat dinner, party), communication with every vendor, and day-of coordination so you can be fully present. You make the decisions, she makes them easy.
Do you only plan Bar and Bat Mitzvahs?
Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are the focus of Razzle Dazzle Event Planning, and that focus is the point: Heather knows the Charlotte synagogues, the venues, the vendors and the rhythm of a Mitzvah weekend inside and out. She also plans B'nai Mitzvahs, double celebrations, luncheons and morning celebrations. For anything else, just ask.
Which areas do you serve?
Heather is based in Charlotte, NC and plans celebrations across the area: Ballantyne, South Charlotte, SouthPark, Uptown, Matthews, Weddington, Waxhaw, Lake Norman, and Fort Mill and Rock Hill in South Carolina.
Do you have to use your vendors?
No. Heather has a trusted team she recommends because they deliver, communicate and work well together, including ATG Entertainment for DJ, lighting and photo booths. If you already have a photographer, a caterer or a DJ you love, she will fold them into the team.
